Mojave National Preserve Hikes

There are only two maintained hiking trails in the Preserve, and they and many unmarked use trails are widely dispersed throughout the Preserve off of 4-wheel drive roads, making it difficult to do many hikes in a day.  We hiked on the following trails:

Kelso Dunes (3 mi. round trip)

Teutonia Peak (4 mi. round trip)

Mid Hills to Hole-in-the-Wall (a short distance on both ends)

Carruthers Canyon (3 mi. round trip)

North Lava Beds (2 mi. round trip)

We unsuccessfully searched for the trailhead to Quail Basin.
