Drive down I-79 through the wilds of West Virginia and there will always be one of these manmade metal ‘trees’ towering over its green neighbors. My first day on the road, and once my brain registered their offensive presence, I saw them everywhere. This is the first time I’ve taken this route (I-68, I-79, I-64), so I don’t know if there are more than in the past, but they certainly stand out more than on any other route I’ve taken, probably because there are more trees along this route.
