A Ride on the Santa Fe Southern Railway

The 4-hour trip on the Santa Fe Southern, a working freight train, traverses the high desert from Santa Fe to Lamy and back again.  While in Lamy, one has the opportunity to eat a bag lunch in the nearby park and visit the Lamy History and Railroad Museum across the street.  The crew was especially helpful and accommodating, slowing the train for photo opportunities of which there were many as a result of recent rains.

One of the more unique sights during the trip is a house built to blend in with the rock formation on which it perches.
